About Marie Ackers

Marie Ackers was born in France, her work is initially inspired and influenced by the work of the 19th century "French Animaliers", such as Jules Pierre Mene and Antoine Louis Barye. Recently Marie`s inspiration is changing toward more modern sculptor such as inspired by Marino Marini, Henry Moore and Lynn Chadwick... Marie Acker`s work is not about scientific measurements but it is about capturing the spirit and the essence of the subject. It is about capturing life. She works on private commissions but also continues developing a portfolio of limited, numbered and signed edition in bronze with few work also available (in a very limited number) in cold cast bronze.

Biography / CV of Marie Ackers

Born in France, Marie`s work is inspired and influenced by the work of the 19th century "French Animaliers", such as Jules Pierre Mene and Antoine Louis Barye.

An accomplished rider herself, Marie is a show-jumper, member of the BSJA and very often competing around the south of England. Marie`s horse is a thoroughbred himself, brought back from France.

Marie Acker`s work is not about scientific measurements but it is about capturing the spirit and the essence of the horse. Marie Ackers loves the graceful and powerful lines of the thoroughbred horse, they are built for speed and spirited and are just begging to be translated in sculpture.

"All my life as an artist I have asked myself: What pushes me continually to make sculpture? I have found the answer. art is an action against death. It is a denial of death. "
Jacques Lipchitz
Customer comment on 'Red Kite (Steel Bird of Prey life size garden sculptures)' by Ramsay Dick
Hi Peter, The Red Kite arrived today and WOW !! Its fantastic, I have spoken to the artist today to congratulated him on his work. Its in place in our garden and my family are soooooo thrilled with it, he certainly is a clever guy and very talented. I know we will get many more positive comments throughout the summer and can only say a very big thank you for the opportunity to own something that we would not think of having. Thanks once again X,
Mrs D. Radford, Tring, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom.
